We are starting this decade ready to tackle some of California’s toughest issues, and invite you to our next webinar on February 11th at 10 am PST on wildfire and land use issues across the state.
The new normal of devastating wildfires in California has funders asking how to connect the dots between the needs that arise related to these disasters and their giving portfolio priorities. Wildfires touch nearly every smart growth issue our funders work on: water, environment, land use, housing and health. They offput billions of unhealthy toxins into the air and water, they destroy our environments and communities, and they raise major questions about land use and planning issues as they only exacerbate the housing crisis we are already in. How can we build 3.5 million homes when the majority of land available is in the tinder-box of the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) and how do we deal with the third of Californians who already live in the WUI?
Register now, and contact Kerry Hastings with any questions.
