Join TFN’s Urban Water Funders on Nov. 7 at 10am PT/1pm ET for a discussion of the recently released report, Impact Investing Opportunities to Advance Water, Health and Equity.
The report, published by the Environmental Policy Innovation Center, notes that water systems across America are degraded or broken: “This has resulted in a lack of access to safe drinking water or sewage treatment in some places, and in others unaffordable water supply, sewage overflows and flooded streets. The failures of our water systems prevent all Americans, especially lower-income and historically marginalized Americans, from having the healthy and prosperous lives they deserve.”
But philanthropic impact investors have opportunities to align their investment strategies with their or others’ grantmaking – and with government funding initiatives.
The report’s top recommendations to philanthropies making impact investments are focused on the following:
- Make an allocation to early-stage technology companies in the water arena.
- Invest in intermediaries to unlock larger public funding sources for sustainable projects in historically marginalized communities.
- Establish a municipal bond strategy.
Join us as we hear from several of the report’s authors as they share strategies that can advance solutions to critical challenges and help our communities move towards an equitable water future.
We look forward to seeing you!
