San Jose Diridon Station
Join a funder conversation and tour at the Diridon Station in San Jose, where Google has proposed to build 6 – 8 million square feet of office space and create a mixed-use, transit-oriented destination.
The tour will include participants from public, private, philanthropic, and non-profit sectors, including Google, Working Partnerships, People Acting in Community Together (PACT), SPUR, Greenbelt Alliance, and others.
The tour will integrate the recent history of transit-oriented development planning at the Diridon Station that Great Communities Collaborative partners led, the planned transportation investments (from high speed rail to Caltrain electrification, BART and more) and other public investment including publicly-owned land.
We will reflect on what the Great Communities Collaborative and our partners have already learned in other places in the region about how tech development can work in collaboration to advance positive community priorities as well as the potential gentrification and displacement impacts.
