This special meeting on May 23-24, 2016 in Fresno convened by Smart Growth California will bring together funders who are working to promote healthy, equitable communities and sustainable natural systems in the San Joaquin Valley and are interested in collaborating for greater learning and impact.
Funders will together:
- Develop a shared understanding of the major trends that are driving change in the Valley, and how they can be harnessed to create a more positive future for the Valley
- Learn about power, politics, and building power for system change in the Valley
- Learn what other funders are funding in the Valley
- Develop an understanding of our shared interests
- Become more aligned so that we can invest strategically and effectively
- Explore the possibility of working together, and determine if there is interest in creating a funder working group
- Identify opportunities for moving forward
