Imperial County is both the youngest and the least populated county in California, and boasts an area more than twice the square miles of the State of Delaware. Imperial County produces two-thirds of all the vegetables consumed by Americans during the winter. Home to the Salton Sea and an incredibly active renewable energy sector including solar, wind, geothermal and possibly one of the world’s largest lithium deposits.
Join us for an overnight trip to Imperial Valley to learn more about health access, health equity, and health justice. Participants will engage in discussions with local leaders as they navigate through access to hospitals and clinics, the impacts of climate change, and a visit with members of the Quechan Tribe. Attendees will also visit local health clinics and hear from local leaders involved in health quality and climate resiliency work.
