Achieving an equitable climate future that benefits all of us requires transforming how communities design, implement and leverage climate policy actions. For far too long, low-income communities and communities of color have been under-resourced and overlooked by policymakers, causing greater harm.
Yet things are changing, catalyzed by a growing recognition that community leaders bring invaluable knowledge and powerful community-driven solutions to tackling the climate crisis. These shifts are further fueled by the unprecedented level of federal infrastructure dollars available to states and communities to support climate and clean energy solutions.
This webinar will feature partners in Community Climate Shift, a collaborative of national and community-based organizations launched in 2022 by the People’s Climate Innovation Center and the Institute for Market Transformation. By combining the power of community-based organizations and technical experts, this collaborative supports jurisdictions that have committed to equitable decarbonization policy efforts that magnify impact and advance a just transition to community-centered policymaking with a focus on buildings.
Please join us May 30 at 2-3 p.m. ET for a webinar and progress report on the community-government partnerships that have been created in cities across the country to equitably reduce greenhouse gas pollution in the building sector.
