Join the Climate Funders’ Collaborative (Baja/Imperial/San Diego Region) for a network-wide gathering at the Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve in Mission Bay. We will participate in a walking tour with partners leading the ReWild Mission Bay Coalition, who have been advocating for a plan to enhance and restore the Bay’s natural wetlands for cleaner water, greater climate resilience, increased carbon sequestration, and improved public access along the public bayfront. We will also hear from partners working on the conservation of San Diego’s coastal lagoons, and other resilience efforts for our coastal communities.
Meeting objectives include:
Meeting objectives include:
- Deepen awareness around issues related to Coastal Resilience, Blue Carbon Solutions, Sea Level Rise and Coastal Habitat Restoration in San Diego County.
- Connect with funders interested in coastal climate-related issues and opportunities.
- Explore how a funder collaborative could increase impact and help leverage regional, statewide and national/federal funding streams in support of climate resilient communities.
This gathering builds upon the engaging conversations and gatherings the Climate Funders’ Collaborative hosted in 2023 (which included a visit to Barrio Logan, the University of San Diego, Imperial Valley, and Baja California).
