A Funder Lunchtime Conversation
The Los Angeles Funders’ Collaborative steering committee invites interested funders for a lunchtime conversation on building sustainable, equitable, and healthy communities in Los Angeles.
This conversation builds upon our previous funder briefings held in partnership with Southern California Grantmakers on building healthy, equitable communities, equitable transportation, climate change, and billions for smart growth. The event is an opportunity to learn, share, and build relationships with other funders interested in the intersection of these issues.
During this year’s funders’ lunch, we’ll have a “Water 101” conversation, getting an overview of water in Los Angeles County and how it relates to smart growth related issues of climate change, public health, disadvantaged communities, housing, transportation, parks and open space. You’ll learn about strategies where funders can make a difference, including through funder collaboration.
The Los Angeles Funders’ Collaborative was launched in 2011. The Collaborative aims to harness the changes being catalyzed by landmark transportation and environmental policies to create equitable, healthy, sustainable communities in Los Angeles County.
Speakers Will Include:
- Wade Crowfoot, Chief Executive Officer, Water Foundation
- Mark Gold, Associate Vice Chancellor for Environment and Sustainability, Sustainable LA Grand Challenge, The Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, UCLA
- Nancy Sutley, Chief Sustainability and Economic Development Officer, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
Established in 2011 by Smart Growth California with leadership from the California Community Foundation, The California Endowment, and Environment Now, the Los Angeles Funders’ Collaborative supports funder learning and collaboration to promote healthy, equitable, and sustainable communities in Los Angeles County.
